It’s been a busy end of season for Bristol’s Louis Price on the Table Tennis circuit. Having had his 12th birthday in May, the St Bede’s pupil had a packed calendar of competition.

Following his hard training with the England Junior team over the last few months, Louis moved onto Preston for the English National Championships held over the weekend of 25th/26th June. He continued his good form with a Bronze in the Under 13 Doubles on the Saturday and Silver in the Under 12 Singles losing a high tempo match against the number 1 seed.

Prior to the Nationals, Louis was selected to play at the Danish International tournament just outside Copenhagen and came away with winning gold in the U13 team event. He remained unbeaten over 2 days of grueling matches, beating both the number 1 and 2 seeds in the competition along the way.

Daniel Ives, his coach said “the hard work Louis has put in over the last year has paid off very well – Runner-Up at the Nationals is a great achievement – This will give his huge confidence with tough competitions over the summer in Malta, Germany and finally at the Euro Championships in France at the end of August”

Saturday under 13’s singles and doubles

I am very proud of the Bristol players at the National Championships this weekend! Outstanding play by Berty Kelly taking gold in the under 11 singles! Louis Price and doubles partner David Gofton finished third in the under 13’s event. Excellent play by Benjamin Greve reaching the Quarter Final of the under 11’s.
